This movie is a brilliant portrayal of legendary Irishman, Christy Brown, who is a spastic quadriplegic. Despite his crippling cerebral palsy, he's learned to use his one controllable extremity - his left foot - to become an accomplished painter, poet, and author. It's a story that highlights the importance of courage, grit and determination. This story is ultimately uplifting with positive messages about overcoming adversity. It is not sympathetic yet it inspires sympathy. It tells the true story of a stubborn, difficult man, blessed and gifted man who was dealt a bad hand but played it brilliantly and created some good books, great paintings, and the example of of courage to overcome barriers. It also highlights the significant role that his family's love and support played in helping him succeed. It contains the vital energy for the moral and spiritual growth and understanding!
