2024 - 2025 Programs
Wednesday, Apr 9, 2025 11:30am - 3:30pm | Risen |
 Thursday, Apr 24, 2025 - 11:30am - 3:30pm
We will look closely at selections from Pope Francis’ 2015 Encyclical Laudato Si, Praise Be to You: On Care for our Common Home. Not just a teaching on the environment or a litany of climate crisis issues, it explains how the origins of the crisis are to be found in prevalent social, cultural and spiritual attitudes. Francis uses the terms integral ecology and ecology of daily life to help us understand this. He points out that “unless we strive to promote a new way of thinking about human beings, life, society and our relationship with nature, the paradigm of consumerism will continue to advance…” But with “an ecological spirituality grounded in the convictions of our faith,” we do not need to stay stuck in climate anxiety. This encyclical offers us a simple yet profound way forward!
The day begins with registration and lunch at 11:30am and ends about 3:30pm.
Suggested offering: $15 includes lunch
